Integrating the data output from the Formidable platform completes a Ubisys solution as it makes your data more meaningful. It gives you the ability to view, share, send and archive critical business data or patient records in a safe secure place on your network. Having data in one place also helps with information governance and building an asset of valuable data.

Once the DPP has output to the requested file format (XML, HTML, CSV, PDF, TIFF, JPEG, DOC) there are generally two ways of then getting that data in to a software application.

1. To contract the work to the application provider and/or existing systems integrator. Depending on the ownership of the application this can often be cost prohibitive as the work is extensive due to the author having to write integration to the APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) of the application.
2. We are able to integrate to any application using advanced 'screen scraping' technology from NDL Metascybe. These products are deployed locally to the customer application and as data is sent to it from the digital pen platform (various transmission solutions exist but it can be as simple as an SMTP E-Mail), it opens the customer application and enters the data as if someone was sitting at the keyboard. This 'virtual human' method of data entry guarantees data integration as it uses the human data interface inherent with all applications which is provided by the application vendor themselves. The software is a non-intrusive package that is able to rapidly generate service-based interfaces to an application's functionality, without requiring any changes or even access to the application's underlying code. All that is required is a client license for the client application.
